There are a lot of fabulous personal growth writers that talk about compassion, empathy, and the likes. Their entire books are compelling and they provide some amazing ways to lead a wonderful life. But I am a little surprised when they say about forming a “community” or do things for a “community”, and the word community gets thrown a lot. However, by definition, a community has the us in it and anyone not in the community is considered as them. For me that seems to defeat the purpose. I feel those articles should be looking at some universal community … for now earthlings may be okay (grudgingly).
